This policy explains what personal data the International Journal of Integrated Law Review collects, why, and what is done with it. It applies to ijilr.org and the journal's Open Journal Systems platform.

What is published

If your paper is accepted, the following become part of the permanent public record: your name, your affiliation, your paper, its abstract and its keywords. That is inherent in academic publishing. Your email address, phone number and postal address are not published.

Why we are allowed to hold it

For submissions and correspondence: to take steps at your request and to perform the publishing relationship. For published papers: our legitimate interest in maintaining a complete and citable scholarly record. For optional items such as your phone number: your consent, which you may withdraw.

Who it is shared with

  • Reviewers — who receive an anonymised manuscript, not your identity.
  • Indexing services and search engines — published metadata only.
  • Turnitin — manuscripts are screened for similarity.
  • Our hosting provider — which stores the site and its data.

Your data is never sold, rented, or given to advertisers or mailing-list brokers.

How long it is kept

Published papers and their author metadata are kept permanently — a scholarly record that disappears is not a record. Unsuccessful submissions and correspondence are kept only as long as needed for editorial and audit purposes. Account data is kept until you ask for the account to be closed.

Cookies

The journal platform sets a session cookie so that logged-in users stay logged in. That cookie is strictly necessary and is deleted when you close your browser. The journal does not use advertising cookies and does not run third-party advertising trackers.

Your rights

  • Ask what data we hold about you, and get a copy
  • Ask for inaccurate data to be corrected
  • Ask for data to be deleted, where we are not required to keep it
  • Withdraw consent for anything you gave optionally
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest

Write to editor.ijilr@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

One limit, stated plainly: once a paper is published, the author's name and affiliation cannot be erased from it. Removing authorship from the published record would falsify the scholarly record and break every citation to it. Genuine errors in a name are corrected on request.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. Access to personal data is limited to the editorial office. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you.

Children

The journal is intended for an academic and professional readership and does not knowingly collect data from children.
