The International Journal of Integrated Law Review is a fully open access journal. Every paper it has ever published is free to read, download and reuse, by anyone, anywhere, from the moment it is published. There is no embargo, no paywall and no subscription.

The licence

Papers are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.

Under that licence anyone may:

• Share — copy and redistribute the paper in any medium or format;
• Adapt — remix, transform and build upon it, for any purpose, including commercially;

on one condition: appropriate credit must be given to the author and the journal, with a link to the licence, and any changes must be indicated.

Authors keep their copyright

Authors are not asked to transfer copyright. They retain it, and grant the journal a right of first publication. An author may reproduce their own paper in a thesis, a book chapter, a course pack or an institutional repository without seeking permission.

Why open access

The journal's readership includes research scholars, practising advocates, judicial officers and students, many at institutions without the budget for commercial legal databases. Placing scholarship behind a paywall removes it from precisely the audience that most needs it. Open access is also how the journal's papers become citable: a paper that cannot be read cannot be cited.

Self-archiving

Authors are encouraged to deposit the published PDF — the version of record, not just an accepted manuscript — in any institutional or subject repository, and to post it on academic profile services such as ORCID, SSRN or Google Scholar. No permission or embargo period applies.

What open access does not mean

• It does not mean the journal skips peer review. Every paper is double-blind reviewed by two reviewers.
• It does not mean authors surrender their rights. They keep copyright.
• It does not mean publication is free of cost to run. An article processing charge is payable after acceptance. It is never a condition of review and never influences an editorial decision.

Reader charges

There are none. The journal does not charge readers to view or download any paper, and does not sell access to its archive.

Machine access

The journal's metadata is exposed over OAI-PMH for harvesting by indexing services and repositories. Search engines and answer engines are permitted to crawl and cite the full text; see llms.txt.
